I was thinking back to when I was a student at St. Paul, and remembering the amazing memories that I made when I was your child's age. I instantly began to smile and felt a warmth inside. Now as an educator experiencing LSW at the same school that I once participated in as a student is extremely humbling.
We started the week off with an amazing kickoff in the church. Where every student wore a shirt that represented a state. The goal was to get every state represented to show how God loves us all no matter where you are located. As a school we were able to have every single state represented (including Washington D.C.). It was amazing to see God's love represented all over the country. It was definitely one of the best LSW kickoffs I have ever experienced. This was quickly followed by Ninja Warrior Training. The students were able to become ninja warriors just like the men and women on 'America Ninja Warrior'.
On Tuesday, the fun continued as we went to the fourth grade wax museum. The students are able to meet amazing people such as: Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, Malala, Jane Goodall, Stan Lee, and even Henry Ford. This was so fun for the students as they were able to hear all about these people, and even get their autographs! The fourth graders did an amazing job. The students then were able to go to art class, where they created AMAZING pieces of artwork. They were red, white, and blue which were special for the LSW theme.
Wednesday was personally one of the best days of LSW. We went on a field trip to St. Paul Lanes. St. Paul Lanes is located at the former St. Paul Lutheran School on the east side of Aurora. It was so nostalgic to be back at the school that shaped me into the person I am today. It was so fun to the students working on their bowling skills, and get so excited when they knocked some pins over. We had a fantastic time, and I can't wait to go back.
Thursday was service day, and I was so proud of how the students were overjoyed to be helping around the school. We went around the building disinfecting door handles, counters, chairs, etc. The students absolutely did an amazing job, so parents...put them to work at home! :)
Friday will go down in the history of the greatest St. Paul Lutheran School's Week memory I have ever had. Each class prepared a Lip Sync Battle to perform for the school. The teachers even kicked it off with their own surprise dance and song for the students. The first graders prepared 'Never Gonna Give You Up' as their performance. They ALL did such a fabulous job, and I was so proud of each of them. I may be biased as well, but I think they were the cutest group of kids as well. :)
Thank you to the committee for their amazing efforts that were put into this week, and we all thank you so much for the AMAZING memories you have provided us all with.
